Our next blogger is Naureen. She’s studying Community Health at the University of Maryland and is a rising senior. She only has one more semester of classes and then has a full time internship during her last semester of a college student – talk about getting ready for the real world! She wants to someday travel to Japan, and get to show off her amazing photography skills. This crazy girl will never fail in cheering you up, and I am honored to have gotten to know her… (10 years and counting!!) here she is!!
Let me start off by saying that I am extremely honored to be a guest writer on Sandhya’s blog; I have nothing but mad love for her! Also, by no means do I consider myself a good writer, so please bear with me haha. Let’s begin! Here’s a day in the life of your favorite 21 year old! I apologize in advance for using too many exclamation points…!!
Summer officially started 2 weeks ago and it’s not what I expected it to be. After scrolling through countless social media sites, I noticed that SO many people are traveling around the world to Thailand, Italy, Greece, and so much more! And well here I am just stuck in Maryland. It got me thinking that I needed to make my summer just as memorable here in MD. So, when my friends Alli and Hana asked to go strawberry picking, I jumped on it!
We decided to go to Butler’s Orchard in Germantown. I’ve never been strawberry picking, so I was excited to go…but not in 90 degree weather! Let me tell you, I was not prepared for the upcoming sweat fest. None the less, it was such a memorable experience overall. Picking strawberries made me feel at ease; it was nice not having to worry about anything for a change. Whenever I go on these kinds of trips with my friends, I tend to bring along my Canon camera with me. So, instead of droning on, here are some of my photos I took instead! Enjoy 🙂
At the end of the day, we were absolutely starving and decided to make chocolate covered strawberries. I would be lying if I said that making those strawberries didn’t instantly remind me of Sandhya, the girl of all things Gossip Girl (xoxo). I was way too hungry to snap a pic of them, but take my word for it-they were berry yummy (ya girl got jokes!). I know strawberry picking with friends doesn’t sound as exciting as traveling overseas, but it definitely was a lovely way to start off my summer!
Alright that’s all I have, so I guess this is good bye! Go and make this summer one to remember!
Aww love you too Naureen! All of the photographs used in this blog (including the image at the top) were taken by Naureen 🙂
