Gatlinburg and Day #2

Hey everyone 🙂 It’s been some time since I’ve last posted, but here I am talking about Day 2 of my Visiting Tennessee Series! Here is a post from Friday, July 29 2016

Hey everyone 🙂

So today was the first day of vacation so far that I slept in way later than I should have (and it continued to happen the rest of the vacation, oops), and today was the day that we were going to check out of the extravagant hotel.

After taking some pictures, my brother and I got tired and got a coffee from the Conservatory Cafe and waited for my parents while they took the last few remaining pictures and walked around with a video camera all around the hotel! Although we checked out at precisely 10:58 am (right on time!) we didn’t leave Nashville until 1 or so.

Once we finally left and bid adieu to the hotel, we were on our way to Gatlinburg to explore Smoky Mountain! This road trip was much less exciting cause it was the same scenery over and over again, and I think I was asleep for a good 2/3 portion of the ride.

That evening though, we finally arrived at the Glenstone Lodge. Although it’s not the normal types of hotels that we stay in (much more… in touch with nature, you could say? I suppose?) it was definitely an experience I’d never forget.

But I’m not here to review the lodge (that’s what the comment card at the end of our trip was for, and the future TripAdvisor review that I’m going to give them!) it was nice to finally lie down on a bed. Since it was Friday, we watched SharkTank on TV and then put on CNN.

We ended the day by ordering Dominoes Pizza, driving around the town, and playing cards in the hotel. We had big plans the next day to leave at 6 am and bike on the Cades Cove trail! You’ll find out on my next installment how that went 🙂
